Hello from Chania, Greece! I have decided to visit this amazing country, and just after arriving, I wanted to share some exciting updates with you about driving traffic to your freelancing profile! Here is a sneak peek I captured today during my visit...
When you sell your services on a freelancing platform like Fiverr, you'll realize at some point that you cannot rely solely on the traffic provided by Fiverr, even though the platform may promote you in multiple places. I have actually recorded a YouTube video detailing exactly where Fiverr can promote your services.
Let’s go over some practical ways with you that you can implement to start seeing a lot more traffic. Before you begin, however, you need to realize that the traffic can be directed to several places: your gig page and your own custom-created landing page.
Bringing Traffic Directly to Your Gig Page.
Driving traffic to your gig involves just a simple setup, but unfortunately, you won’t really know if it’s working well. You can only track the results based on any new timer messages you might receive. In cases like this, I recommend that you add a section to the 'Requirements' part of your gig where you can ask people where they found your gig. Allow them to select an answer from multiple choices.
Pros:
Simple and easy.
You can use BYOB links to receive 100% commission if the potential client has not signed up on Fiverr before (not available to everyone).
Fiverr uses its own metrics to optimize the landing page, so your gig page will be updated going forward.
Cons:
There is no way to track visitors through FB Pixel or Google Analytics.
You don't have the flexibility to change any aspect of how your gig page looks.
You can’t customize the domain link, so it might be harder to direct people to your gig.
Bringing Traffic to Your Own Landing Page, Adapted for Your Fiverr Services.
This is what I have done with my agency website, WNOG MEDIA. I created a website that replicates the services I offer on my Fiverr account. As you can see, when potential buyers visit, they will experience a sense that my agency has established credibility from Fiverr, and we are simply presenting them with a different look. Essentially, this setup is more advanced, but it gives you greater flexibility to decide whether you want the traffic redirected to your Fiverr page or your own platform.
Front-end:
You need to have an incentive for people to leave their email address.
This one is very important: if you simply build your website to showcase your packages, people might not be convinced to buy from you. Instead, you should think about offering free value first.
One of the best incentives is personalized. For example, you can provide a 'Free Analysis' of their website, social media, or anything else you plan to work on. You can use the Loom platform to create and send a screen recording video.
Backend:
On the backend, once they proceed with your package, you can direct them either to your gig page (as I do) or to a client onboarding portal (like this $200k MRR agency does). They use a platform called SPP. I also use it myself and believe it is one of the best out there.
Driving Traffic: What Are the Options?
This is the most interesting part, but at the same time, you need to be creative with this. Simply running Facebook ads to your landing page might not be the best option.
Here are some methods that have worked well for me so far:
Being mentioned in articles on LinkedIn, marketing websites, and blogs.
This is a great way because, over time, these blogs will rank high in Google, and you can consistently attract new traffic to your landing page or gig page.
Collaboration with YouTube channels.
YouTube is best for social media traffic, as you can still receive a lot of traffic even several months after posting.
Promoting through newsletters.
Newsletters are great for traffic because they usually have very loyal audiences who actually spend time reading them. It can have a short-term effect, but you can build relationships with the people who run these newsletters, and they can promote you several times a year.
Driving Paid Traffic to Incentives and Retargeting with Email Marketing.
It’s not enough to just direct traffic to your gig or landing page. You need to build a sequence where you drive visitors to your landing page or gig, they leave an email, you provide them with value, and then you can retarget them with your services and what you offer through email campaigns.
There are many other methods, and I am excited to keep you updated on the strategies that I will be experimenting with in the coming weeks and sharing with you here.
Also, by being subscribed to this newsletter, you will always receive insights and information firsthand.
Thank you for your support, and see you next week!
Kind regards,
Vasily
Thank you so much for the insightful blog post. It was really helpful and provided a lot of great tips! I was wondering if you offer any coaching or guidance specifically for promoting gigs through Fiverr Promoted Gigs option?
Do you recommend editing the gig? Is it effect to my gig to rank or derank?
